John is the Co-Chairman and a founding partner at BSSP. In 1990, John met partner Mike Shine at Chiat/Day and moved west for jobs at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. There they met Greg Stern, and in 1993 opened BSSP, a full service independent creative company in Sausalito, CA. John is a former One Club president, he regularly speaks at the One Club Creative Directors conference, and his work has been recognized by Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, Effies, and the Clio's. After building a career in advertising with Ogilvy in New York and Southeast Asia, Greg met future partners John Butler and Mike Shine working at Goodby. They started BSSP to make a more effective model with insightful strategy, breakthrough creative, and an integrated approach across all relevant channels. Over it’s 26 years, Greg has helped lead BSSP while also contributing to the industry, most recently as the Board Chair of the 4As. Greg has recently started as CEO of the non-profit performing arts organization, SFJAZZ, turning a passion into a vocation.
